Overcoming the various challenges in the remote areas of the country has been the driving force for re-establishing the humanitarian hub in in the town of Kaga-Bandoro in Central African Republic (CAR). The compund now has the capacity to accommodate 40 humanitarian staff to support the affected population.

IHP deploys to devastating earthquake in Nepal

A large scale 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck northwest of Nepal's capital Kathmandu on 25 Apr 2015, killing thousands of people, destroying buildings and infrastructure. IHP was requested by the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) to deploy staff and assets to support the critical relief efforts.
