Sweden new IHP Chair from July 2013

MSB, Sweden, is taking over the chair position of IHP for the coming 1,5 years. Deputy head of Operations Section, Stina Sjölin, has been appointed to carry on the work as the IHP chairperson.

As the new chairperson and on behalf of the IHP-family, I would like thank CMC Finland for an excellent chairmanship during which IHP has continued to develop strategically as well as operationally. IHP has during this period delivered support to the most severe humanitarian situations, for example to the crises in Libya, Syria, South Sudan and to Ethiopia (in response to the drought in Somalia). The ambition with the Swedish chairmanship is to continue in the same spirit and further strengthening IHP’s role in delivering support services to the humanitarian community.

There is a challenging but exciting autumn ahead of us, with potential new operations as well as the upcoming Triplex exercise in Germany and Denmark in September/October.
